About 73% of US Population estimated to be Immune to Omicron

Around 73% of the American population is estimated to be immune to the Omicron variant, and the figure could increase to 80% by mid-March, stated a university health institute.

Nearly half of the eligible Americans have received booster doses, and around 80 million confirmed COVID-19 cases have been reported. The immunity generated from vaccination and prior infection tends to prevent new illnesses and decrease the amount of the circulating virus. 

A data tracker from The New York Times suggests that the US is registering nearly 125,000 new cases per day, which translates to a 68% drop from the past 2 weeks. Hospitalizations have also declined by 39%. Around 2,300 new deaths are being reported per day, with a 13% reduction… (Medscape)
